The work/study option is provided for practitioners who wish to participate in programs or training but are experiencing a shortage of funds.

This option allows the centre to offer an alternative. There are often projects or maintenance tasks which need to be attended to at the centre throughout the seasons. Everything we do at the centre is voluntary. However, with the work/study option, you can volunteer your time on a particular project or task at the rate of $20.00.hr to help offset any shortage of funds for a training program.

For example, if a training program you are participating in costs $100.00 and you can afford only $60.00, two hours of your volunteer time at $20.00 per hour makes up the difference.

At the Shambhala Buddhist Centre it is important that we extend this opportunity to practitioners who wish to further their training and practice. In this way, we can extend generosity to those who want to participate in programs we offer at the centre.

Work/study option: @ $20.00/Hr. Minimum $30.00 fee.

Work/study contributions can be performed in the following areas:

• General Cleaning
• General Maintenance
• Yard Work
• Wednesday Open House Preparation
• Monday Open House Preparation
• Special Projects at the Centre
